VenuesWorking with venues to engage and excite diverse audiences by exploring innovation in contemporary craft
We offer themed exhibitions touring nationally and internationally to galleries, museums and arts centres. We also devise small exhibitions and learning resources for educational, health, community and business settings. See 'For Hire' for more information on current projects.
Exhibitions are initiated and developed in partnership with a core group of venues to ensure shared ambitions. Made in the Middle was developed in partnership with Rugby Art Gallery and in close association with the venues taking the exhitbiion during it's tour.
Themes and ideas are always explored and developed through action research projects with communities. At Home is an example of how we have worked in this way.
We establish supportive partnerships which take risks, learn, share and have lasting impact. We are open to collaborations from interested venues.
Exhibitions are available for hire as a complete package including: accessible interpretation, handling and learning materials, publicity and bespoke display furniture.
The exhibition encouraged me to unlearn many restraints I employ when visiting exhibitions
Strangers were actually talking to each other as they explored the exhibition

A fascinating collection of amazing craft, people and projects

We were struck by the diversity of the work and potential the SELF exhibition offered for engagement and exploration. The inclusion of Craftspace's Action Research Projects alongside extensive interpretative materials and a display of work produced for our own outreach programme, encouraged visitors to look at the exhibits anew.

‘Handmade’ was more than a tour of contemporary crafts. The process of engaging a non art venue for the first time in hosting an exhibition paved the way for future partnerships. Handmade contributed to local makers’ professional development and generated a resource of exhibitors and workshop providers for us to tap into, and we do!
