Project SummaryWorking with the CIP
Artists Jitka Palmer and Melanie Tomlinson worked with newly arrived women to create wonderful craft pieces as part of a six month arts project. Colourful ceramic and printed metal flowers and seeds created a garden of flowers that expressed the value and joy of growth and new beginning.
The women use the resources of the Community Integration Partnership, a regional organisation that supports and provides training for women from diverse countries who have come to Birmingham. This project has been developed by the Community Integration Partnership and supported by Craftspace.
The work was originally exhibited at St Martin in the Bullring, Birmingham from the 3rd June to 26th June 2006.
This project has followed on from an earlier project with CIP, The Meeting of Hands and Hearts.
Developing people, ideas and opportunities through contemporary craft.
