Craftspace

Time in Print was a collaboration and partnership between the National Trust’s Whose Story? initiative, Craftspace, the West Midlands Caribbean Parents and Friends Association and wallpaper artist Linda Florence.

The aim of the project was to enable the artist and participants to take time to observe, reflect, collaborate and interact socially through the activity of printing. They have responded to Wightwick Manor’s stunning arts and crafts interior and range of objects from around the world.

This project has allowed us to interpret and understand the themes of time and slowness through local people’s own experiences, values and cultural perspectives. Through this process we can appreciate how things are made, where they come from and who produces them.

 

Whose Story?

The aim of the Whose Story? project is to highlight previously untold stories, hidden histories and cultural heritage links within National Trust properties in the West Midlands that would inspire and interest audiences from Black and Minority Ethnic communities. It develops new ways of bringing properties to life with events to attract diverse audiences. With support from the Heritage Lottery Fund a programme has been initiated in four properties over four years: the Back to Backs in Birmingham, Wightwick Manor in Wolverhampton, Charlecote Park in Warwickshire and Croome Park in Worcestershire.
